Alpha Brain VS Ultimate Brain & Body by Tapi Labs

by SmartBrainTips

Alpha Brain, a nootropic under the Onnit Brand of supplements and Ultimate Brain Body a newer entrant in the nootropics space, made and marketed by Tapi Labs. Alpha Brain has been in this space for the past 10 years and has earned substantial traction as the “go-to” nootropic for anything brainpower and cognition related. Ultimate Brain & Body, however shows some real promise in the form of fruit blends and various other additions to take on its competitor, Alpha Brain. Let’s see how these nootropics stack up!

Both Alpha Brain and Ultimate Brain & Body offer a range of ingredients that can enhance cognitive and memory functions via various mechanisms. Of particular note in the table above is the supplement L-Alpha GPC in Alpha Brain and Ginkgo Biloba and Huperzine-A in Ultimate Brain & Body by Tapi Labs. Both of these supplements have been tested in clinical trials and have the enviable distinction of showing qualitative benefits over various age groups, ethnicities and genders.

From what we can see, both competitors don’t stray too much from each other in the price value and both can last you a full month, with no need for a resupply. No math or hidden costs, we’re off to a good start!

Battle begins!

Price and Value:

When making a rough comparison of the price for a single capsule, Alpha Brains would be – 0.88$ and a single Ultimate Brain & Body capsule(tablet) – 0.59$.

Recommended Dietary Allowance:

Micronutrients are required in very small amounts and the amount of each nutrient required by members of each of the sexes, and based on a sedentary or active lifestyle can be measured using a uniform (globally accepted) value called Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA). RDA is measured on a “per-day” basis.

Vitamins Battle:

Vitamin B21.2 mg NA25 mg
Vitamin B315 mg NA25 mg

Vitamin C90 mg NA120 mg
Vitamin D20 mcg NA2.000 IU
Vitamin E15 mg NA30 IU
RDA = Recommended Dietary Allowance, NA = Not Applicable (Not included), IU = An International Unit

It is easy to conclude that from the table above the micronutrient profile of Ultimate Brain & Body beats that of Alpha Brain. Alpha Brain has a single minded focus on providing only nootropic supplements, whereas, Ultimate Brain & Body takes a more holistic approach at promoting mental and bodily wellness as well, by influencing the endocrine glands, neural tissue repair systems (Vitamins B) and also allowing for proper skin and ligament development (Vitamin C).

Ultimate Brain Body contains the following micronutrients:
– Calcium
– Iron
– Iodine
– Magnesium
– Selenium
– Molybdenum
– Copper
– Boron
– Zinc
– Manganese
– Chromium
– Sodium and Potassium
– Choline
– Inositol
– Lutein
– DNA and RNA

The elements listed are required in minute (trace) quantities. Various studies have shown that they are important in maintaining the strength and function of bones (calcium and phosphorus) and various other metabolic activities. Manganese, selenium and molybdenum preform as co-factors for various enzymes as well as maintenance of hormonal functions (like iodine for the thyroid gland). So even if our body needs them in small amounts, that clearly doesn’t mean that they’re not important for our wellbeing. Ultimate Brain & Body give us full coverage, almost like a good insurance, in the vitamin and mineral count. Alpha Brain included only one vitamin and that is Vitamin B6 and a pretty big dose of it. We think they chose Vitamin B6 in their formula due to its positive effects in combination with other ingredients from their formula, like leucine and theanine. Vitamin B6 and theanine together can boost mood and support your state of mind. Some studies indicate that leucine and vitamin B6 can help prevent obesity. We don’t even know where to start describing all the combinations of positive effects in the Ultimate Brain & Body formula because it has so much ingredients! Apart from the trace minerals, this formula features almost every vitamin that our body needs in order to function properly. Vitamins from the B complex, alone, have some cognitive enhancement properties! Ultimate Brain & Body is the perfect solution for people who have totally neglected their diet, but want to give their body all the tools it needs. This formula also includes some blends with high quality ingredients, one could wonder how did they pack everything up in a capsule (the secret is – they’re huge).

– Citrus Bio complex:
It contains hesperidin, rutin and quercetin all of which enhance collagen synthesis and improve the Vitamin C levels in the blood. This complex is also extremely potent in its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.

– Digestive Enzyme Blend:
Betaine, bromelain and papain enhance carbohydrate metabolism and absorption, while amylase enhances fat breakdown. The digestive enzyme blend can promote proper absorption of food materials with adequate supply of fiber.

– Probiotic Blend:
Containing B. bifidum, L. bulgaricus and L. acidophilus. Probiotics or friendly bacteria have known to enhance the well-being of the gut intrinsically and functionally. Cellulose, the constituent of most plants and veggies cannot be digested by enzymes of our body. However, probiotics like B.Bifidum and others can easily breakdown this complex polypeptide into simpler molecules for quick metabolism and easy excretion. This is known to prevent constipation.

– Omega Blend:
Containing the Omega family of fatty acids Omega-3 and Omega-6 enhance the wellbeing of neurons and prevent cognition and memory decline. They improve the heart and lung function as well.

– Green and Whole Food Blend:
Containing the oat extract, apple pectin, chlorophyllin, barley grass and spirulina. This blend is very rich in vitamins and minerals. They help with stronger bones and provide antioxidants for better immune system function.

– Herb Blend:
The herb blend contains echinacea, ginger, milk thistle, cayenne, Korean ginseng extract, ginkgo biloba extract and goldenseal all of which are known to enhance the body’s metabolic rate and promote the wellbeing of gastrointestinal tract. They also have antibacterial, antiviral and antioxidative properties which help boost the immune system and help the body fight off diseases.

– Fruit and Vegetable Blend:
Containing papaya powder, grapefruit extract, apple powder, peach, strawberry, acai, cranberry, blueberry, bilberry extract, pomegranate extract, pineapple, orange and noni powder. Berries are known to have antioxidative properties to them. They can slow down aging and help reduce inflammation throughout the body. These ingrediencies also boost skin texture making it soft and plump.

– Mushroom Blend:
Contains: shitake mushrooms, maitake mushrooms and reishi mushrooms. Mushrooms have all sort of medical properties added to them. They help detoxify the body and can also affect the humane brain in various ways. Mushrooms have the ability to boost brain function which adds up on the nootropic list!

Everything is self-explanatory, let’s continue further into the battle.

Amino Acids Battle:

Amino acids can be regarded as the building blocks for the structural framework of our body and its various systems. Combinations of amino acids form different proteins, which in return buildup muscle, bone and ligaments. Amino acids can be essential and non-essential.

**Alpha Brain does not provide the individual concentration of the above ingredients. A suggestive value of less than the available values has been taken for comparison purposes.

Both brands have decided to go for different approaches. Alpha Brain went with some good quality nootropic-like amino acids like tyrosine and theanine. Both have positive effects on our cognition and memory skills as well as on our focus and ability to learn. They certainly compliment the other nootropics in the formula and probably enhance their abilities. Ultimate Brain & Body included L-Carnitine which also has some nootropic like properties but clearly the accent is on energy production. Both glutamine and L-carnitine are used by gym dwellers and professional sportsman for their boost in energy production and fat burning properties. Alpha Brain has managed to pull itself out with the addition of nootropic-like amino acids that pump up their nootropic score. Ultimate Brain & Body falls behind in this segment for the nootropic effect, but we give them points for including some pretty good amino acids that have other benefits on the body like helping muscles form and boosting athletic performance.

Not so bad for now! Both brands have their pros and cons so far, but are managing to deliver the desired effect. The next round is the main round, so let’s continue down the line to see who will win out!

It is worthwhile to note that both competitors offer similar nootropics like the: Bacopa Monnieri, Phosphatidylserine and Huperzine A. However, quantitatively, Ultimate Brain Body by Tapi Labs wins by a long-shot. Onnit Labs fails to provide the individual constituent concentration of its “proprietary blends” further strengthening our claim that even on an “apple-to-apple” comparison, the Tapi Labs supplement beats its competitor very easily (quantitatively and qualitatively).

Winner is Ultimate Brain & Body by Tapi Labs!

Taking no credit away from Alpha Brain, and commending it for its marketing outreach and being a leader in the nootropics space, it is necessary to assert that Alpha Brain fails when placed against the newer entrant by Tapi Labs: Ultimate Brain & Body. Alpha Brain provides some good quality natural nootropics and it shares almost half of it with the Ultimate Brain & Body with the exception of Cat’s Claw and L-Alpha GPC. Cat’s Claw isn’t listed as a nootropic and it doesn’t bring any benefits in that manner. It’s said that it may boost immunity, and relive some types of arthritis but it has no backed evidence for any of those claims. All in all, we wont back up nor disproof this indigent even though it seems shady. L-Alpha GPC (from the Alpha Brain) and DMAE Bitartrate (from the Ultimate Brain & Body) have similar effect in the brain and that is the production of neurotransmitter Acetylcholine or ACh. They boost ACh levels in different mechanisms but ultimately have the same result. So roughly said, both supplements share the similar ingredient which makes these formulas even more similar, if we talk about the nootropic part that is. Props to Alpha Brain for its inclusion of amino acids theanine and tyrosine! Even though it lacks those 2 amino acids, Ultimate Brain & Body by Tapi Labs looks like a miracle potion. It has everything, from vitamins, to minerals, to blends, to nootropics and all in one, sorry, two products! Ultimate Brain & Body shares a similar formula with the Alpha Brains, but with an addition of St. Johns’ Wort, DMAE Bitartrate, Ginkgo Biloba and -L-Carnitine. We were pleasantly surprised with Ultimate Brain & Body while doing the comparison because of their versatile formula. The inclusion of a variety of blends and their well-researched fruit and vegetable blends provide a holistic (micro-)nutritional arsenal that will definitely assist the mind and the body. And if you dig a little deeper, their blends also provide some popular components that are proven to help people in many ways. Let’s take of an example the Omega blend. This blend features omega 3 and 6 acids that are vital of our brain health. In the blends you can find ingredients like: Echinacea, Ginger, Korean Ginseng, Noni fruit powder, Reishi mushrooms, Hesperidin and Rutin, all proven to benefit brain health in some way. Of course, the amounts are lower that your typical dosages, but they exist in the formula and provide the benefits nonetheless. Ultimate Brain & Body also packs a punch with its antioxidants, almost every ingredient they have is some sort of an antioxidant. Antioxidants are miracle workers in our body, they boost our immune system and help fight off inflammation which is the cause of cancer and other diseases. They have a whole blend dedicated to antioxidants in their formula. Also a word on their impressive vitamin stack. They managed to put almost every vitamin in their formula, unlike other competitors in the market, not just Alpha Brain. Yes, we know it’s a nootropic supplement, but we like the Tapi labs revolutionary idea behind the concept. The Tapi Labs supplement could very well be the “go-to” nootropic displacing the likes of Alpha Brain and possibly setting the newer standards and benchmarks for future nootropics. One downside we found about the Tapi Labs Ultimate Brain & Body is that it’s a little painstaking to take with its 5 capsules/tables a day after each meal mantra. So you really have to be devoted in order to take the required doses. But a lazy solution to the problem would be to take all 5 capsules/tables in the morning (or any suitable time for you) or to take half the dose if the current seems too much for you. In that way it would be much easier to implement Ultimate Brain & Body into your life and enjoy in all of the benefits it has to offer!
